Britta Byström’s work Possibilities (2024), full of rythm and energy, lends its the title to this concert focusing on Swedish music. Several of the Ensemble’s commissioned works, such as Alvin Vikman’s Japanese Seasons or Staffan Storm’s Seelenherbst, provide a sonorous vocal foundation.
Carl Unander-Scharin has been inspired by Claudio Montverdi in his Lamento e piú, performed with choreography by Åsa Unander-Scharin and gesture-controlled electroacoustic music. The concert also includes a première of Amor Vincit Omnia, a work by newly elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music Susanna Lindmark. In times of conflict, unrest and crisis, the power of the human voice is more important than ever. Harry Martinsson’s poem Där blåklinten slog en bro (Where the Cornflower Built a Bridge), has been set to music by Agneta Sköld, displaying her deep understanding of the voice as an instrument.
